Messier Marathon 2004

Norm Leier with his 8" dobsonian picked up 74 Messier objects before the clouds rolled in.

Scott Wilson used his 14" Celestron to also find 74 Messier objects.  Scott graciously allowed us to use his acreage for the marathon.

Carter Smith set up his 8" Meade LX-90.  He had a great time using his scope and picking out some of the wonderful deep sky objects.

Kevin Jaques and his son came out to the marathon to learn about astronomy and enjoy some great views of the sky.

Bob Eisner also came out for a good look at the night sky with his refractor.

Marsha enjoyed the view through Scott's C14.  The Orion Nebula was a real treat!

Vance Petriew had his 20" Obsession set up and managed to find 80 Messier objects before packing up in the thick fog.

Alden Foraie tracked down 74 objects in his 10" Sky Mentor.  It was a frosty night with temperatures around -16 degrees Celsius and no wind.

Ray Chomos came out for some observing.  He set up his C8 and enjoyed hunting down Messier objects and visiting with everyone.

Sam Ferris also participated in the Messier Marathon and managed 75 objects in his 16" dobsonian.
