International Astronomy Day May 6, 2006

Bob Brann setting up his telescope to track the sun all day.  Special solar filters are used to protect our eyes.

We set up our display board for the public to see.  We had a wonderful day talking with everyone who stopped by.


Canada Day July 1, 2006

James Edgar brought out his Coronado PST to show people the flares on the sun.

Paul Meyer also brought out his Coronado 60.  This great scope shows beautiful solar prominences through the specialized Hydrogen-alpha filter.

There were a few sunspots on the sun to observe through the club's 8" dobsonian.

There are a variety of astronomy brochures available for those that stopped by to visit.


Cub Scout Camp September 30, 2006

Vance Petriew gave an astronomy presentation to the young Beavers about Deep Space.

Bob Brann and Vance Petriew are setting up Vance's telescope before the Cub Scouts arrive..

This Celestron 9.25" goto telescope is being set up by its owner, Paul Meyer.

Darryl Dormuth has the club's 8" telescope all ready for the evening.

Bob Brann takes advantage of the waiting time to gaze at the moon with his 8" telescope.

Vance Petriew gave a presentation entitled "Galaxies" to the cub scout group.

Darryl lines up the E.T. cluster for these budding observers.
